A recap!

In a pathetic attempt to bring life to the topic, I'll give this post a bump.

Yesterday, I backed up my important files and reinstalled OS 10.3.7. I wanted to clear out all the accumulated crap. Now I'm trying to find good apps.
Here are ones I'm sticking with so far:

Firefox - Seriously, the best browser out there. It has some aspects I'd like to change, but still comes out better than Safari. The variety of extensions/themes make for an individualized browsing experience.

iTunes w/iPod - Orgasmic! I have 14 gigs of music, perfectly coordinated between the two. It was actually easy to set up iTunes without losing my old playlists! (Though I can't say the same for iPhoto. Grr.)

WeatherDock - Heh, I have to admit that I only got this program twenty minutes ago, after seeing brandon11983's post. I used to play around with WeatherPop, but it just brought frustration. This proggy looks like it will work perfectly and for free too!

LaunchBar - Fantastic proggy, enough to make me feel guilty for not paying the shareware fee. I find it alot faster and easier to use the keyboard rather than working with the GUI. (Yeah, I know, but you know what I mean.)

Synergy - This is one of the few shareware programs I've bought and actually used for several years. It basically adds aspects that iTunes doesn't have. It can place a set of buttons (next song, pause, etc) in the menu bar, allows hot keys with the same functions (if my hands are off the mouse), and can display a floating box with song name, album, etc. It used to eat up my processor, but it is good now after playing with settings.

gCount - Shows in the menu bar if I have email. Can also be used with Growl for the prettiest notices.

VLC - Phew. Finally, I can chuck WindowsMediaPlayer. I haven't used it much yet though, and am crossing my fingers that it can correctly handle most clips.

Macaroni - With this application, I'll set a new system uptime record. It allows you to schedule a time to run the UNIX cleaning commands, and repair disk permissions. I put my computer to sleep at night, so this allows me to keep everything in order without messing with cron commands.

Now for programs I like, but haven't utilized to their full extents:

Roxio Toast 6

Remote Desktop

RealPlayer - Ugh

Office X - If I didn't get it for free, I'd go with Open Office .

NetNewsWire Lite

MacTheRipper

GraphicConverter

Final Cut Express

clamXav

BBEdit Lite

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2

Acquisition

I bet you liked how that last part was in reverse alphabetical order. What about you? Found any new OS X applications? hints? tips? I've modified my boot image and panel.
