Over at Monolith Studios in the US they are hard at work on you heard right, The Matrix Online! The Matrix Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Gamespy.com has an article on it up, here's a snippet..
"The Matrix Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in The Matrix itself--which is essentially the world as we know it. Literally hundreds of thousands of players will be able to occupy the gameworld simultaneously, which is in part made possible by the sheer size of the city in which all of the action will take place. You'll be able to roam the streets and enter every single building in the city, and inside you'll find fully furnished rooms on every single floor of the building until you reach the roof--which the developers suggest is one of the best places to indulge in a little Matrix-style combat. The fact that you'll be able to explore every inch of the massive city in the game is made all the more impressive by the fact that no matter what you do, your gameplay will never be interrupted by loading screens and the like."
Sounds very promising! I'll update you when more information is available, with any luck we may catch a glimpse of it at this years E3 running in the next 3 days.

Pretty bad ass huh? Something every Matrix fan has been asking for since the game Enter the Matrix got announced! I'm not a big fan of MMORPG because I don't have enough money to pay to play a game I've already bought so I'll be giving this one a miss. From what it says above it doesn't seem like there'll be much order, looks like you'll just be running getting Jet Li on everyones ass.
