3 Matrix Games planned, ENTER THE MATRIX, MATRIX ONLINE and ???

This from EntertheMatrix.co.nz

The Matrix Online is coming..
Reported On Wednesday May 14 12:42 AM By Outlaw

Over at Monolith Studios in the US they are hard at work on you heard right, The Matrix Online! The Matrix Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Gamespy.com has an article on it up, here's a snippet..

"The Matrix Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in The Matrix itself--which is essentially the world as we know it. Literally hundreds of thousands of players will be able to occupy the gameworld simultaneously, which is in part made possible by the sheer size of the city in which all of the action will take place. You'll be able to roam the streets and enter every single building in the city, and inside you'll find fully furnished rooms on every single floor of the building until you reach the roof--which the developers suggest is one of the best places to indulge in a little Matrix-style combat. The fact that you'll be able to explore every inch of the massive city in the game is made all the more impressive by the fact that no matter what you do, your gameplay will never be interrupted by loading screens and the like."

Sounds very promising! I'll update you when more information is available, with any luck we may catch a glimpse of it at this years E3 running in the next 3 days.
Pretty bad ass huh? Something every Matrix fan has been asking for since the game Enter the Matrix got announced! I'm not a big fan of MMORPG because I don't have enough money to pay to play a game I've already bought so I'll be giving this one a miss. From what it says above it doesn't seem like there'll be much order, looks like you'll just be running getting Jet Li on everyones ass.

In relalted news...

ETM first of 3 Matrix Games
Gamigo.de reported that an Infogrames rep told them during a press event that there will be in fact 3 Matrix titles! Making Enter The Matrix just the beginning of the virtual Matrix universe. So we may see The Matrix online yet?

As reported on Gamigo.de:

"Yes, you have read right! As we got informed on a Infogrames event yesterday, there are 3 games planned in the Matrix universe. Enter the Matrix is the first of three games though. About the content of this or their release dates, there is no info given though. We will keep you informed for sure."
Looks like Warner is gonna have a big fat wallet this year, two Matrix films, the Animatrix, 3 Matrix games, Terminator 3....

I believe your right a Matrix MMORPG would have absolutely no structure resulting in crap-tastic gameplay and quickly getting bored. Unlike World of Warcraft where you level up get a profession and take on quests updated with great frequency!

Who here thinks they will for sure get that game/subscribe to it?

I'm absolutely sure that I will not ever purchase this game. I may play it at my friends place or something but I'll never buy.

Enter the Matrix (For PC) First Impressions

As the application begins I notice the video intros with artifacts.. I'm thinking.. ok...ok..so they still needed some compression with 4 cds..

Looking at the main menu screen 1024x768. it looks like a jpeg at 30% quality. Playing the game.. Is it just me or does the graphics quality suck? I chose anistropic filtering .. should I have chosen something else?

Gameplay.. the AI seems to be ok, there are some silly times when they run into walls and stay there if you are behind them, but they do good about making you stay on the move.

Bullet time.. could have been better.

The Hacking.. can't get any image viewing or video viewing things to work.. at all.. code goes through, but I see nothing, and hear nothing.
I have Direct X 9.0, but not WMP 9.0.

I'm looking forward to playing through the game, to see more of the story behind the Matrix but overall I think the job on the game engine/quality itself could have been much better.. at least from what I have seen so far.

Comp specs..
P4 2 ghz, 256 mb ram. GF Ti 4200 128 megabyte, win xp
--

Anybody else played it on PC? What are your thoughts?

I'm with you, my specs are nearly the same as yours. The graphics are pretty sad and I've encountered a weird bug that makes my character walk forward without me having to press any keys, so I start a game and he/she walks straight ahead whether I like it or not.

IMPORTANT EDIT
My game looked like shit and I wasn't happy, my system rocks so that it was a rip-off, further tinkering and I found that "Force Object LOD" was on in the games graphics panel, TURN IT OFF, it will boost the beauty of the graphics incedibly. It also fixed my annoying walk problem.

Still not satisfied, then get the performance boosting patch here:

Force Object LOD has always been off for me, going to try out that patch in a little bit.

As for the hacking part, any ideas why images aren't showing up when I do the View command?

Games go gold Waaaaay before their release dates so that they can get the boxes to distrubution houses and get them to the retailers for the actual release date.

More than likely it's got to hit a particular date so they let it go knowing that there's going to be a patch already available for it.

For X-Box its friggen awesome. The graphics are sweet-and the moves are orgasmic--the only flaw is the camera at times

I'd like to see shots from the XBOX/PS2 versions if anybody can post them up.. It'd be very interesting to see a comparison of those on the PC. Imo, if they're better than on the PC, we got ripped big time.

It shouldn't have been too hard to do some better quality stuff (or at least mostly comparable to those of PS2 and XBOX) for those of us on the PC version...

I have it for Gamecube.

Like the film, it's not perfect, but also like the film, it's a great time!! A lot of fun. Probabaly the best movie tie-in game since Two Towers (or Spider-Man).

sucks

i am sorry, but the game enter the matrix isn't that great, i was highly disappointed at the lack of textures and the fact that there wasn't much attention to the details ecept the characters, also there is too much clipping durring the fighting. fun for half an hour then it just gets old. rent it before you buy it!

Enter The Matrix HaCKS

I've got Enter the Matrix and I love it, the cut scenes are awesome and the playcontrol is right on. Plus the bonus trailer at the end is well worth the time spent to beat it. It does have a unique area for hacking the game, adding glitches, viewing files etc. If anyone else has played this game, let me know what you think and if you have found any hacks, lets share them here.

I wish I had a game to be playing right now.

I think I'm playing Homeworld, but that kind of is a slow going thing. On my PS2...Well, I don't have a game I haven't finished, though my girlfriend is going through FFX...which is something.

are you tying view before you type the name of the file with the space in between? I just type, "view 092.img"

if that doesn't work it sounds like you haven't unlocked the view command. Is it in your list of command choices in the left side of the screen? If not you'll have to run the dir comand to find the view command in a folder first. then just run "view" by itself, that should left you view stuff then.

also on another note about hacking, this is the command list and effect:

Command Effect

DIR <location> List files and folders
CLS Clear the screen of text
HELP <command> Extended help for a command
TRACEKILL Kills traces
READ Read *.txt files
VIEW View *.img files
PLAY Play *.fmv files
DROP JXTRR10 Weapon drop at Drainage Canal

DROP RHFTQ10 Weapon drop at Skyscraper
DROP ZSZQH10 Weapon drop at Warehouse (Chinatown)

It's alright. It's worth playing, but not worth buying. Thanks, roommate!

Definatly a rental... I bought it for xbox, I've beaten it. It is fun at times, but there are so many problems that it's not worth a purchase.

The graphics would have been good 3 years ago, the controls are ackward at best, the music is terrible. Sure it's the music from the movies, but it seems as though it was added as an afterthought... volume range is all over the place, the music loops constantly, and doesn't really fit with the action.

My copy goes back to gamestop today

well i'm glad I bought my copy, while it is buggy. I've seen things just disappear for no reason at all among other stuff.... I've a load of fun playing it, the graphics on the xbox version aren' the best in the world but they are still better than games on the ps2, also if you have 1080i cables the graphics get a boost there... The controls are different but it didn't take a lot of getting used to.
Stazen with Xbox controller do you have? the first one or controller S?

I see a lot of disappointed posts.

I rented it for the X-box and I think it's fantastic.
The controls are a bit buggy, but once I worked them out I barely noticed 'em. I love the 'matrix-time' moves and such it's just killer. Real movie cut-scenes and *gasp real actors make this so much more enjoyable. I'm playing it on a big screen television with a big-ass stereo attached to it and it's pretty cool.

Nothing like hearing those shells clinking on the floor

funk-e, I had that problem. If you have a gamepad/joystick try disconnecting it, or making sure nothing is pressing on the stick (as it was in my case).

Anyone else disappointed by this PC version? Max Payne with a matrix mod is far better. All this PC version is... is hitting two buttons at once and waiting for various results... it blows! I'm sorry I spent any money on it!

Yeah, I heard it really sucks, and only die hard matrix fans should buy it for the extra story clips. The whole thing is just another way for folks to cash in on merchandising.

The hacking part is okay, but even then...

I'm glad I got it on sale for like $20.

The videos that fill in the gaps of the movie almost made it worth the $20.
