mistyped. meant to say a *non-powered* USB hub.... my printer, an HP OfficeJet D135 says that in its manual....
otherwise, ignore.
do you have all the patches/fixes from Microsoft re: USB. that's the only other thing i can think of... besides what's been mentioned.
