For me, during CB, OB and ST and retail, the game has shown nowhere near the amount of addictiveness as EQ. I can actually stop playing the game. I don't feel like I'm at work or constantly "grinding" and that was a feeling that I hated about EQ. With EQ, I felt like every time I logged on, I was going to a full-time job. Because that was what it required to become successful in that game. Incredibly large amounts of hard work. In this game, you can actually have fun! Unlike EQ, WoW encourages going on quests to get hearty amounts of experience. I guess that's why there's 2000+ quests in the damn game. I never feel like I'm working in that game, and for me, that makes it incredibly fun.

Now, to answer your question properly. Is WoW addictive? In some ways yes, and in others, not entirely. I don't feel like I HAVE to play WoW all the time in order to get things done. But somehow I end up WANTING to play WoW all the time in order to just have fun. It's more fun, but less addictive than EQ.

The password is "Who are the Patriots?" and "La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo." "La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo." Gotcha.
