I'm guessing that the test your dad ran is a hematocrit.........it measures the ratio of solid components (red blood cells) to total blood volume.
If your hematocrit is that high and you had no obvious[/I] illness prior to having your blood drawn, then something else is seriously wrong. You would need to have tremendous diarrhea or vomiting, with minimal intake, to get your blood that concentrated.
You may have a serious but treatable condition involving your kidneys and/or bone marrow. I would urge you to get medical attention immediately. If your hematocrit really is that high you are at tremendous risk for having a heart attack or stroke. The consequences of that could effect your whole life. Don't save a little money now and pay for it the rest of your life.
