Complaining about how the rankings are outside of the top 10 is fairly pointless. As others suggest, it really doesn't matter if ASU is #20 or #23. As for the top 10, it's another story.
Someone on ESPN suggested that the AP and ESPN rankings shouldn't come out until the 5th or 6th week, kind of like the BCS rankings itself. The reason why Auburn is tied for #2/#3 is the 'inertia' it takes to move from #20 in the preseason to #1. If Auburn was #1, Oklahoma #2, and USC #20 preseason, if would been all reversed. I am an USC fan, I think they are not a clear number 1 by any means. Auburn is maybe a tick above SC and OU right now. Playoff damnit!!!!!!
