Their attitude doesn't seem very healthy to me, nor very rational. Do you honestly believe that providing information about sexuality caused any of the "problems" cited? (I put that in quotes because I don't see homosexuality as a problem).
If you read the article, some people are very clearly against investigating sexuality...

They're blaming these ills on his research, not on him going out and personally forcing people to have abortions, watch pornography, or infecting people with STDs.
