The movie is somewhat of an underground hit around here... most everyone I know has seen it and enjoyed it.
It's totally over the top, just like the lives of James St James and Michael Alig.. the acting isn't the best (though it grows on you)... the whole movie is filmed in such a way that you more or less feel like you're on this rocket ship to FaBuLouSnEss with them, shooting into a drug laden oblivion..
it's not a documentary, but it's alot of fun, and you walk away from it feeling like Macauley and Seth really are Michael and James, and like you were a part of it.. or could of been... (even though you were probably sitting at home masturbating)
for me, being a party promoter and dj, I found the movie inspiring in one sense. any crazy kid with enough motivation can be king of the world... and the movie was a bit of a reality check.
on a related note.. James St James and Michael Alig threw a party way back in the day called BLOODFEAST, and, in tribute to the wonders of the original NY club kids, my friends and I are throwing a party based off of it, called, Disco BLOODFEST 3000
