FF7 is just purely awesome, I've palyed every game in the ff serious except 11 the new online one and some of the foreign releases. ff7 is tied for first place among them. The characters are great, the awesome Sephiroth, Red13, and of course Cloud. One of The coolest thing about final fantasy 7 was the materia! Freshly done with the Esper system, the materia takes it to the next lvl. That's the best spell/skill system in any game ever as far as i'm concerend, all the different kinds to collect...all the different cool combo's..the lvling up the materia. Collecting all the materia, and beating the weapons is a must....Ruby is way harder than Emerald Despite what the strategy guide says. Greatest game ever...oh except for maybe final fantasy 3 (united states).
Chrono Trigger is incredible...the story, so good. Frog! i loved frog and the robot is hilarious if you have him in your team during the story scenes he says the most hilarious stuff, just like some robot would. One of the coolest things about chrono trigger is going back to play it after you've beat it.. you can kill the boss (wow i can't believe i've forgotten his name...what a shame, magmas?) right when he first shows up! what a treat, you even get alternate endings based on what part of the game you choose to fight him....you can even beat him at a certain point in the game (didn't want to type a spoiler)....and the ending is very saddening. One of the cool things in that game is going into the future opening a treasure chest, then going back in time and opening it again! woot!
Final Fanstasy 2 (united states) is also a great one Cecil the Dark Knight and his quest for good...great game also
not to mention Xenogears, man talk about a good story. That game is like a Novel man! Xenosaga the ps2 sequel is pretty darn good too.
ah, rpg's they are the coolest
oh oh had to edit....don't forget Final Fantasy Tactics...that game is just fun as heck too, lots of skills/classes to mess around with and pretty good challenge lvl, esp right at the start..and hey, cloud makes a cameo!
