All the advice is very good. I've had a BMI of 35 reduced to 25, most of it due to the fact that I've stopped drinking any soft drinks. Add some excercise from time to time and you're bound to loose at least 5 BMI points right there. Once you hit that mileston, you'll be psychically ready to move on to regular excersizing and dieting. But the first step is always in your head. I had it easier - I broke down after my dad died, and things sort of started happening and before I knew it I was loosing weight. That worked for me, but everyone has their own set of triggers.
