Yes it does save them, as well as all other aspects of your profile. I installed V1.0 RC1 directly over V1.0 PR and everything went smoothly. If you are running an older version, I don't know how it will react.
There is an extension called 'Super Drag and Go' that does what you ask and a bit more. It can be found
here. As you will see, it was designed to be similar to MyIE2's 'Super Drag & Drop.'
