I hadn't seen the original Dawn of the Dead until shortly prior to the release of the remake, so maybe I just didn't have the nostalgia factor amping up the quality for me. I found it to be plodding and poorly acted. I understand the subtext of what Romero was attempting, and applaud him for it, but I just did not enjoy his film.
