I don't mean to sound insane, but is there any chance that I saw at least a partial director's cut in the theatres? Many of those changes that he speaks of in that link you provided I swear were in the theatrical version I watched. There are a few scenes that he mentioned had changed that I didn't pick up on while watching the DVD though, mostly extended conversational pieces.
Or maybe I just have a very over active imagination, who knows. Either way, I still love the flick.
