Yeah, I remember one of the strategies on defeating the weapons required you to split one of the higher end materia... it's such a pain to sit through that many battles.
Hm,.. something like equipping all of your chars w/ mimic and Knights of the Round, the life2 (or was it phoenix?) materia so when it killed you, you were revived instantly. Crazy.
