Pearl Jam has produced a lot of lethargic-sounding filler. Vedder's vocals seem to be the band's greatest asset and weakness alternatively. But I think if you were to take their seven studio albums and condense them down to five, you'd have five albums of four or five-star quality. And
No Code and
Ten might already qualify for 4-4 1/2.
They're a solid band. But not quite as good as the Stone Temple Pilots.
