Whoot! PJ Rules. One of my favorite bands.
I just saw them a couple of weeks ago on the Vote for Change tour. The show was in Ashville, NC at the Civic Center, this tiny little venue of about 6500. Killer show, killer sound. They only played one set, but it had a short acoustic portion in the middle which was very cool. Sorry I don't have the set list. I am hoping it becomes available for DL soon, but the site doesn't look like it's been updates since 2002, so I don't have much hope there.
The funny thing about the show I saw was the very special guest star that showed up unannounced. The actor Tim Robbins showed up with his band to open the evening with a short set. He then came back out and sang a song with Eddie and the boys at the end of their set.
Good time for all, and they had lots of activity at the voter registration booth. I think the whole thing was very sucsessful.
I think it's excellent the way PJ has evolved. As they mature and change, so does the music. I'm not a huge fan of Riot Act, but I think everything up through Yield is really top notch music. Even Riot Act has some good tunes on it, and the B-Side "Down" is an great song. I think Eddie gets a little full of himself sometimes, but I'm sure that just comes with being so popular. Some of his stuff actually reminds me of late Jim Morrison stuff. Poetryesque spoken words over music. It's creative to say the least, just not quite my cup of tea...
heh heh... Glorified G just came up on the media player (in random)
*sings*
I've got a gun...
fact I've got two...
That's okay man, cause I love God!
Excellent man, just excellent.
