I have a question... in one of the previously mentioned threads they differentiate between having control over a dream and having a lucid dream. What is actually the difference between the two?
This is a subject that has always facinated me and I would like to learn more about. Yesterday, when I found this thread I also found a link to a FAQ on lucidity.com that listed a few "reality tests"
Last night, while sleeping I began to dream and did a reality test against my watch. I looked at it once and it wasn't moving. I looked at it again a few seconds later and it still hadn't moved. I was able to move it change time by my will. After that I realized I was dreaming.
Once I realized it I tried hovering above the ground and was able to do it. I flew around a bit and then "transported" myself throughout a few locations within the town I was in.
If I was able to control my surroundings... doesn't that classify as a lucid dream? The only reason I doubt this is that everybody says how long it takes to learn to lucid dream and how difficult it was. The first time I tried it I was able to fly and transport myself to different locations, Which has been said are a few of the hardest things to do. I find it hard to believe that it worked that well on the first try.
As a side note... I did finish off a case of beer (I had 7 or 8) myself last night within a couple hours of going to bed.
