Okay…..you guys all did well.

Training of course is the thing we all need. If you train, you can do it.

The Failure drill/Mozambique was designed for just what it says…though it should be called the FTF drill. Failure To Fall.

Why?

Because you just shot the fucker and he failed to fall down. Which of course means that he forgot to be dead.

You will see this a lot. It’s a big deal these days. Should we get rid of the 9mm and the 5.56mm because they are too small and you shoot someone and they just stand there…..

Its not really the bullet….we cant all carry a damn .50cal. The thing you need to remember is that its not like the movies. When you shoot someone, they don’t generally go flying…..they just kind of crumble. That little bullet is going super fast and its job is really to just poke a hole. True…..we have cool bullets that do bad things on impact…..but do they let us carry them?......usually not. So your really just poking a hole.

So then……you can’t really expect for them to fly away and just be dead. Sometimes there is lots of screaming…..usually a bit of stunned “what the fuck-ness” is going on. Often you can even see the “shouldn’t I be dead?” look……right up to the point where the old bean is compromised.

Im with all of you who like to use the tried and true “Non Standard Response” of shoot till your dry. But the problem is that you generally have more than one BG, AND well……there may be someone you actually DON’T want to kill around too…….Why is it that the people you DON’T want dead die from being shot in the ankle?

So then……..

IF you are able to shoot controlled “at the range” groups of less than say as big of a circle as you can make with your touching index fingers and thumbs….of BOTH hands……(its not that small of a group)…..then you need to start working on drills.

MOST of these drill can/should be done dry….at first……and often there after……

Draw and fire.
However you carry your gun. If you carry it stuffed in your pants….don’t forget it will be hot when you stuff it back.

Mag change.
Both tactical and speed. When changing for speed…..let the mag fall to the ground. All this talk of not letting the BG hear your mag fall is retarded…..who the hell can hear a mag hit the deck after you just shot the thing dry?

A tactical reload is when you are NOT out of BB’s yet you put in a fresh mag anyway….its always good to know you have a full mag.

Speed is of course when you run out of BB’s and need more quick.

Fire from cover/move to cover.
Make sure to work both sides……sure its easy on the easy side……

Shoot from your knees, sitting and prone.
Angles are harder than you think.

Shoot both up and down at close and long range.
Angles are still harder than you think.

Note…..You don’t need a real gun to learn weapons skills. Marksmanship yes…..weapons skills no.

Gotta run.
