OK, look, no one ever expected Cameron Diaz to be much smarter than the characters she plays, but what is this crap about "Musicians/actors are not qualified to comment on politics"? They're not citizens? They don't have a right to vote? Hell, many of them are finacially sucessful without their daddies' help. I 'spect that makes them more qualified to comment on politics as relates to economics than the current resident of the whitehouse.
But all slandering Bush aside, it is these people's JOB to comment on society. It's what they are there for. True, some of them are morons (Miss Spears, I am talking to you), but many of them are smarter than you are. Don't dismiss them because their job title isn't "analyst", and don't call them fools simply because they disagree with you.

I personally found much enlightenment about modern society in Charlie's Angels 2

. It is not a celebrities job to comment on society, it's their job to entertain society. And when they say foolish things, they should be called on it. Cameron Diaz says because I didn't vote, I'm pro-rape. That is beyond foolish, it's stupid. And they aren't speaking as citizens, they are speaking as celebrities. Most believe that that gives some special right, or makes what they say not ignorant garbage. Being physically attractive and starring in a couple of crappy movies doesn't make you a political expert, no more than being an old white guy and serving in congress makes you a movie critic.
