dunedan, not a problem. Some people buy stock. I used to buy guns. And my class 3 investments have far outperformed the stock market, so the wife doesn't give me too much flak when I buy stuff, since I can always sell it later. Of course, given the happenings in Stewart, my investments hopefully will take a serious nosedive soon.
BTW, not all of my things end up being profitable. I think I've got something like 800 NIW chinese AK mags left (out of a thousand bought), stashed in one of my storage areas, that I paid $8.75 a pop for back in 1994, figuring that the AW ban would never sunset in fact. If I gave a shit, I'd find them and sell them. OTOH, it never hurts to keep stuff squirrelled away. But if I had ditched all of my high-cap stuff at the peak, I'd have been able to buy some more nice stuff.
As another BTW/FYI, "Henry Bowman" is generally seen as a pseudonym, taken from the lead character in JR's "Unintended Consequences". There may be a real person with that name out there, but when you talk in the "gun culture" about somebody of that name, people will generally assume that it's false.
I take it you hang out on the Hippy's Board?
