Kurant I agree with everything in your above post, especially the part about not wanting to see another Trinidad/Hopkins. There are so many other good fights for him out there.
The one thing that makes me optimistic about the situation is that both Trinidad and Hopkins have a lot of integrity. They know who the best fighters are out there and I think they will try to make those fights happen. Unfortunately, if they are both successfull, and I think they will be, the public will clamor for a rematch. I'm not saying Trinidad couldn't win, it just doesn't seem realistic and the fight doesn't appeal to me.
And I think beating Mayorga does take a bit of skill; Trinidad didn't get hit once with one of those bombs...he dodged every single one of them and landed at an amazing percentage. He beat Mayorga to the punch from the opening bell, wich suprised me. I thought Mayorga would swarm him. Tito wasn't messing around when he said he'd been training for the last six months.
Anyway, what a dominant performance. Definitely worth the money this time around. When Mayorga boastfully put his chin out there for Trinidad to hit, I knew the fight was over. What was he thinking? What a jackass.
