The A's have never truly had the respect of the fans. Dating back to their beginning in Philly, it was always more about the Phillies (which I don't understand they are one of the losingest teams % wise in baseball, and Connie Mack had great players on his team).
The lack of respect in Philly forced the move to KC where they didn't last.
Then when they were great in the early 70's they were overshadowed by the Pirates, Dodgers, Reds, Yankees, Orioles teams of that era.
I am a big A's fan, but they need to find their niche in the Bay area or move up the coast to Portland, Vancouver or inland to Vegas. They have a great pitching staff (have pretty much always been a team reliant on pitching when they are winning), and still people talked about the Cubs, Astros and Red Sox staffs and would say "oh yeah there's the A's staff."
I would love to see the A's in the playoffs and series. Hudson, Mulder, Zito a truly great staff deserving of a WS ring.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
