The only advertisements on XM are the ones carried by the third-party content providers (msnbc, cnn, etc.). Some of the channels with DJs will occasionally plug something on XM channel (their own channel or another channel). The Decades channels (50's, 60's, etc.) play a vintage commercial every so often.
Legolas, you need to define "consumer friendly." I find that my XMPCR with XtremePCR is as friendly as it gets short of having some hot babe pop out of the screen to tell me that one of my favorite songs is playing on another channel. To my knowledge, there are no USB controlled radios for Sirius. Therefore, is your consumer friendly comment based on the fact that Sirius has free internet streams for subscribers?
If so, I'm forced to say, "so what?" I'm not interested in streaming media. I wanted a radio that would interface to my PC and not impact my network.
Punx1325, wait patiently and one is bound to turn up on eBay. I own 3 xmpcrs, but I'm not selling any of them. I use two and have one for a spare. I lucked out when XMFANSTORE had the $15 sale just before production stopped.
