Well the Dentist numbed things quite thoroughly. The tooth broke and his plyers knocked my lower front teeth. OUCH. But it seemed to take less than 10 min once he'd let the novacain take effect. The actual pulling was quick and almost completely painless. I have a headache and my jaw aches but there is not a lot of soreness. The actual hole that the tooth left is obviously tender but beyond that there is little swelling. The site continues to bleed off an on but this morning seems to have almost stopped completely. I went to bed last night (propped up) with packing in since it was still bleeding somewhat. When I changed the gauze during the night it was completely saturated with blood so I know it was bleeding quite a bit then. Possibly because I was laying down. At least while it's still bleeding it's washing any debris out. I only had a milkshake for supper and have gently rinsed with salt water so there isn't a lot of chance for debris at least.
I still hate the dentists but at least this was better than I expected. Now to get my fillings done. Hopefully only 2 more visits and I should be good for a while. Whew.
