I would wish him enlightened long before I would wish him dead.
And by the way, the comments I see in this thread are, in my opinion, demonstrative of the very best the internet has to offer:
The internet has helped to break down walls, to bring people of different cultures and philosophies together. On the net, you can't judge a person by the color of their skin, but only by content. Even Stare At The Sun's race is a mystery. Sure, we could make a guess, but we don't know for sure, and so we have to judge by content.
Over time, we get used to thinking of people in these terms. When getting to know someone, we get used to looking at ideas instead of the containers those ideas come in. And in getting to know these people from all over the world, we start to understand each other a little better. We start to see each other's value, each other's contribution, rather than each other's differences.
"Tolerance" is bullshit. You tolerate someone who is chewing with their mouth open. You tolerate someone who is walking too slowly in front of you. You tolerate someone who has been looking at the menu for five minutes and won't freaking order. You don't "tolerate" someone's cultural differences. You ACCEPT their differences. You EMBRACE their differences.
The internet, as evidenced by the posts on this board, is helping us do that. Long live the TFP!
