Take a tylenol or advil before you leave for the appointment. I've had tooth implant surgeries under gas and had my wisdom teeth pulled out while completely under. Of the two, I preferred being completely out because I couldn't see/feel/hear what they were doing, especially in such a confined area. Get them to give you whatever will relax you the most. The more you are relaxed, the easier it will be on you and your body, and the quicker they will be able to work. Putting an ace bandage over an ice pack on your cheeck will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce any swelling, and save you from getting chipmunk cheeks.
