Regarding GMail.. How are its spam filters?

Heya everyone.

Until now, I have used two different email accounts online. One for regular emails, and one for spam and registration (which could ultimately also be spam).

I recently received a Google invite and am experiencing the interface for the first time.

My main question/concern is in regards to GMail's spam filters. How are they?

Does anyone use their GMail address for "everything" online? That includes registration and other sign-ups that may result in spam..

It would be nice to be able to use one address online, but before doing so I'd like to hear feedback from others about GMail in general, and specifically, how it's spam-management system works?

Thanks!
