I thought the controls sucked at first, but once I figured out how to use them, they became second nature to me, which means they're pretty good controls actually. There is just so much to do with that control in this game that it seems like you don't know what you're doing at first.
All I have to do now is get all the dog bones for snoop and finish the rest of the bonus training sessions I didn't get through while beating the game. I beat every level, including the alternate ones, and had fun all the way through.
One aspect where it REALLY needs work is the levels where you have to tail a suspect. Sure, driving too slow and letting the car get away is on obvious failure of the mission, but when the suspect is in your field of vision and it says "I lost him!", that's pretty lame. They need to give you more distance to work with.

That's your opinion and the previous post was mine, just because you think the controls are great and they were second nature to you doesn't mean that everyone is going to like the controls, which doesn't make them pretty good controls to everyone but pretty good controls to you.
I still think the game was lacking in too many areas and that is my opinion.
