Just to be on the safe side. I would call the city where you are living at and contact the local police dpt. or a FFL and ask.
California has one of the strictest gun laws. Anybody here remember the Northridge (or was it North Hollywood) robbery? They were decked with full body armor and armor piercing rounds in a AK47 complete with drums.
