The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie, and I can't say much of a single bad word about it, but the Dude is definately NOT a badass. The scene (one of many that comes to mind) that demonstrates this well is him nailing a plank of wood to the floor (with about 50 bent nails) so he can set up a chair to barricade the door, only to find out 30 seconds later that the door opens outward. He later trips over the plank.

I would have to add Wyatt (Peter Fonda) from Easy Rider.

But I think the prize definately goes to Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction - even his wallet is a "Bad Mother Fucker."
