Michael Corleone - The Godfather I & II
Tony Montana - Scarface
Riddick
Vincent - Collateral

and this isn't a movie, but Solid Snake needs to be mentioned.

Oh and Brad Pitt as Achilles in Troy.

Just thought I'd mention these because no one else has mentioned them so far.

(Oh and uh, sorry for using "pwnz.")

I got a lot no one has mentioned.

Maximus - Gladiator
Major Konig - Enemy at the Gates
Animal Mother - Full Metal Jacket
Sgt. Horvath - Saving Private Ryan
Cpl. Steiner - The Iron Cross
Tyler Durden - Fight Club
Eldon Perry - Dark Blue
"Hoot" - Blackhawk Down
Lt. Col. Hal Moore - We Were Soldiers
Mani - Brotherhood of the Wolf
Big Chris - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Bullet Tooth Tony - Snatch
Boris "The Blade" - Snatch
"Bud" White - L.A. Confidential

And that's just from my small movie collection. Hollywood can make badass characters pretty easily, huh?

Oh, I almost forgot, any Samuel Jackson character, ever.

I agree with a lot on this list so far, so I'll avoid repeating a long list and say the first one that came to my head:

Bill - Kill Bill Vol. 2

In the scenes with his character, he just inhabits the badass nature. The way he talks and acts fits perfectly in my head, even more than someone who just does badass things.

Definately like a lot of the lists though as well.

The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie, and I can't say much of a single bad word about it, but the Dude is definately NOT a badass. The scene (one of many that comes to mind) that demonstrates this well is him nailing a plank of wood to the floor (with about 50 bent nails) so he can set up a chair to barricade the door, only to find out 30 seconds later that the door opens outward. He later trips over the plank.

I would have to add Wyatt (Peter Fonda) from Easy Rider.

But I think the prize definately goes to Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction - even his wallet is a "Bad Mother Fucker."

Terry Tsurugi, Sonny Chiba's character from the "Street Fighter" series of films. This guy was ripping out nut sacks and Adams apples from his foes. I don't think you can get anymore "badassed" then Terry over there. If you've seen any of the films you'd know that this guy is some sort of human ass-kicking machine that can't be shut off. Seriously check out any of the films, they're great, and I'm sure you can find them for two or five dollars in the bargain DVD bin at your local corner store...
