I would second the power supply recommendation. Power supplies can be a major cause of instability/problems that people rarely think about. If you do get a new one, make sure to get a quality name brand one. For the processor you stated earlier, you will probably want one that is at least 400w with at least 160w on the +5v and 3.3v lines. I would also highly recommend getting a dual fan P/S.
