I had a vasectomy 7 years ago at the age of 28, right after my second child was born. After all those years of my wife managing the birth control and having 2 kids to boot, I felt that it was my turn to take some of the responsibility. Sex is better than ever, although ironically about a year after the vasectomy my wife had to get back on the pill because PMS which was never been a real problem before the children, was really affecting my wife. So now we are double protected.
