That happens to me all the time. With common things, shows or songs etc. that get a lot of airplay and I watch often I just chalk it up to crazy coincidence. Sometimes though its a little weird. For instance: I was at a friends house and in the course of a conversation I said "So, say you're a white South African. If you move to America, are you an African-American"? That night we were watching Saturday Night Live and Charlize Theron was hosting. This was a first run episode, not a repeat. During her monologue they did a skit where one of the cast members came out and ased if she was from South Africa, she said yes but now she lives here and they of course did the bit about her being an African American. Not exactly a subject that comes up every day. My friend looked at me like she'd seen a ghost.
Another time I was driving home and thinking about the movie "Strange Brew" and getting a chuckle wishing I could watch it. When I got home it was just coming on television! They don't run it often and I love the movie so I would have remembered seeing a preview or tv guide listing. I've thought about friends I haven't seen in years and then get a phone call within a day or so. Kinda weird stuff but I can't seem to summon those damn lottery numbers so I can't put much stock in it!
There is a book called "Illusions" by Richard Bach that somewhat addreses this sort of thing. It mentions how thinking about a thing will bring it to you. Its a fictional story but a really good read and a great way to look at life.
