It usually happens to me at least once a month and it seems to be caused by absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. If I eat like a candy bar or something along those lines, it will clear-up within an hour or so. What happens to me is that my peripheral vision begins to deteriorate, then I start seeing little black dots, followed by a mild headache and dizziness.
I've never had it checked out because I don't feel it happens enough to warrant a doctors visit and it can be fixed with a strong sugar intake.
