slant eyes, like arch 13 I don't think there any possibility of cooperation from Yahoo. I have been a Yahoo user for years, and have had the same thing happen...no luck in recovering. But look at it this way, if it were easy, then someone could get your information...
Heres what I do to avoid the problem in the future. First I have one good, valid email address, with all the correct information about me on the profile. I never, repeat, never use that address for anything except storing information. I never mail from it, or search with it' the only mail it gets is from me, or the ocassional thing from Yahoo, which can't be prevented as far as I know. I'm like you on giving out personal information, but sometimes you just gotta do it. Then for my email, searches, links, etc, I use another address that has none of my actual information. Wrong age, address, intrests, birthday, secret clue...the whole bit. I store that info on the real one that I don't use, and can always go back and find anything about the 2nd one that I need. Even at that, I don't show the password for the 2nd, or 3rd one...just a clue that I can't possibly fail to understand should I need to retrive it.
