WHOA.. There is something called the Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome. Nobody is 100% sure what causes it, but the general line of thinking is a Vcore increase outside of a specific range.
Bottom line, I have only every increased my Vcore up one notch in my Bios. I have seen documentation that says you can go up .200, but no higher. Play with your Vcore at your own risk with a Northwood.
BTW, the Vcore voltage might not immediately kill your cpu. You will see a performance drop/ system malfunction, and then drop down to stock to see if that is the problem. Once you get to stock, you 2.4 will only show as a 1.8 or so. It goes downhill from there.
