Has anyone volt modded a 2.4C ?
So I can crank my 2.4C up to 2.9 ghz, but at 3 ghz it becomes unstable. Temperature is not an issue, temps before it crashes are still under 40C.
So now I am interested in doing some volt modding to get the last amount of juice possible from the 2.4. Currently my processor is running at default voltage of 1.568. I've heard that the maximum safe voltage is 1.85. So I was wondering if anyone has done any Northwood volt modding and what results you experienced.

WHOA.. There is something called the Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome. Nobody is 100% sure what causes it, but the general line of thinking is a Vcore increase outside of a specific range.
Bottom line, I have only every increased my Vcore up one notch in my Bios. I have seen documentation that says you can go up .200, but no higher. Play with your Vcore at your own risk with a Northwood. BTW, the Vcore voltage might not immediately kill your cpu. You will see a performance drop/ system malfunction, and then drop down to stock to see if that is the problem. Once you get to stock, you 2.4 will only show as a 1.8 or so. It goes downhill from there. Edit: Here is a link to an article about SNDS.. Google for more info. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/print/news6375.html
