Nightwish and Within Temptation do not have "growly" vocals. Nightwish is the absolute cream of the crop of this style of music. Although that's to down WT, because they are equally as talented, however they currently only have one album out and it's fairly hard to come by, wheras Nightwish has several albums, and all but the newest are pretty readily available at most major online outlets.
A couple of other similar "ungrowly" bands to check out are Artrosis and Delight (not to br confused with Dee-lite
