After Forever
Searching revealed no previous threads:
If you haven't heard of this group, I think you're missing out. It's a very hard band, goth metal style mixed with opera singing.... I'm of the opinion that it's incredible. Particularly you should investigate "After Forever - Leaden Legacy (The Embrace that Smothers part I)" I recommend downloading first (I don't do that) because it's a 43 dollar import (I'm in Indiana)

Thanks for the link.
OK, I'm giving it a second listen as I type this. I like almost everything about it. I'm going to give it the same review I gave Lacuna Coil elsewhere on these boards: I like everything except for the angry Cookie Monsters in the background. Is that a standard element of whatever genre this is? I mean, the backup singers are able to sing; they do so on the verses. But they hit the refrain and just growl. For me, this ruins it. But the lead vocalist is very nice, and the combination of strings and metal is great.

I can't wait to get "Invisible Circles". theendrecords.com is going to have it in stock soon and it should only be 13 or 14 dollars for US folks. Then I'll have to work on getting the new Nightwish disc , which I can't currently find for much less than $30.

I downloaded some Nightwish at the suggestion of mrklixx and I agree with him completely, this band is the cream of the crop of this genre of music. I, however, do not mind the growly sounds so I really like AF too, but that's all good.
Thanks for introducing me to Nightwish, they are a superior band.
