Here is what I do:
I did a bunch of research and found local auctions. I then got a list of the "types" of auctions, i.e. Large equipment, office, etc.
I found a couple of auctions that sell mainly computer equipment and went and checked them out.
Basically, I now buy computers (old ones) in bulk and then sell them on eBay.
Above is what I bought at an auction last week. 12 computers for $160.00
I then test the computers, fix them up and sell them (mostly PII's and PIII's) on eBay.
Right now I buy the computers for about $15.00 a piece and I just sold two of them for $40.00 a piece (plus shipping). The better the computer, the more money I get (couple of weeks ago I sold just a PIII mobo/cpu for $50.00)
I started this with just $100.00. Now, I take a lot more money to the auctions and buy more computers but I usually triple my investment at least.
These are all surplus computers so you have to figure that 20-30% will be toast, but that just makes it more interesting.
Last piece of advice: Stay away from OS's on eBay--way too much trouble.
Oh yeah. I tried the "wholesaler" thing and didn't find anything worth putting money into. I do the computers and my wife goes to garage sales on Sat. It is amazing what she comes back with.
