Extra Cash?

Im looking for a way to make a secondary income without getting a 2nd job (which requires me to physically be at a business) working out of my home. Does anyone powersell on Ebay and make extra cash, or anything similiar? If your willing to share some legal and legitimate ideas I would be most apprieciative.

I'm working on finding a wholesale dealer ( NOT SMC) and researching some items that would have decent resale. I'm currently researching items through www.ltdcommodities.com They have a lot of stuff online you can price, which I then cross reference with ebay...

Just a thought, as there are a lot of people doing this, and they are making money ( or at least their auction prices say they are).

hope that helps..

you can also try flea markets and yard sales.

Here is what I do:

I did a bunch of research and found local auctions. I then got a list of the "types" of auctions, i.e. Large equipment, office, etc.

I found a couple of auctions that sell mainly computer equipment and went and checked them out.

Basically, I now buy computers (old ones) in bulk and then sell them on eBay.

Above is what I bought at an auction last week. 12 computers for $160.00

I then test the computers, fix them up and sell them (mostly PII's and PIII's) on eBay.

Right now I buy the computers for about $15.00 a piece and I just sold two of them for $40.00 a piece (plus shipping). The better the computer, the more money I get (couple of weeks ago I sold just a PIII mobo/cpu for $50.00)

I started this with just $100.00. Now, I take a lot more money to the auctions and buy more computers but I usually triple my investment at least.

These are all surplus computers so you have to figure that 20-30% will be toast, but that just makes it more interesting.

Last piece of advice: Stay away from OS's on eBay--way too much trouble.

Oh yeah. I tried the "wholesaler" thing and didn't find anything worth putting money into. I do the computers and my wife goes to garage sales on Sat. It is amazing what she comes back with.

Where'd you find information on the auctions you go to? I'd like to give that a try.

yellow pages, internet search and the local paper.

I found the best info to be in the paper under "auctions". They like to advertise the hell out of the auctions because the more people that show up the more money they will bring in.

My friend tricks people for cash on E-Bay. He purchased a list of items and where they can be sold at discounted prices for one dollar through E-Bay. He then chose one of the more expensive items from that list, created a great/distracting discription of that item, found a picture of that item, and created a webpage of his own....he makes people think they're purchasing the item at a rediculously low price when all they're really purchasing is the list.

He made someone think they were buying a huge HDTV for $500 when all they purchased an extremely over priced list. It's not illegal but it is increadibly dishonest.

It's a bit dishonest but if you've got the conscience for it then it can land you some good cash.

I buy a lot of books from Amazon and other sources, in the past year I've learned the art of selling them back. You set your price and hte condition of the book, and ship the book to the buyer parcel post, it's a pretty easy arrangement, and the books you are selling don't have to come from Amazon...
