I'll agree that Meguiars is good stuff, but there's an inexpensive cleaner/wax that works great: Prestone synthetic wax. (Tall dark blue plastic bottle with gray top.)
I've used Meguiars, mothers, turtle wax, etc... I even read consumer reports and tried NuFinish. What makes most of these waxes tough to use it how long it takes to get the dried wax off your car. I've spent hours rerubbing areas on a dark blue mercedes just to make sure there were no more white marks.
The prestone works great if you want a quick wax/cleaner job that makes your car look good. It comes off so easy you'll feel like crying.
It's not a wax to use if you only want to wax your car once or twice a year, but if you want a quick wax that lasts for 2-3 months that only costs around 3$ it's the wax to use.
