There are a number of systems folders that you can not delete. At best, you can only hide them from view on the desktop.
It's becoming the trend now, with big SW houses, to add this crap to your system without asking.
The average user doesn't seem to mind so it keeps happening. I think that only geeks care about it. I know it bugs the hell out of me ;-)
