I see absolutely nothing wrong with a dress code at all. Kids should be going to school to get an education, not a date for Saturday night. However, I do find it more than a tad hypocritical when they tell the girls that they can't wear short skirts, but trousers are acceptable -- and no word of what the boys are wearing.
Back when the dinosaurs walked the earth and I wasn in high school, the public school I attended had a dress code, boys had to wear collared shirts, no jeans, no shorts, other than that that was it. Girls, we had regulation skirt length, more than 2 inches above the knee was not acceptable, no shorts, no high heels, and no restricting clothing was how it was phrased (ie tight jeans)
