I would not worry about it all. As long as you can tell that both you and her are enjoying the experience, that's what it's all about.
I'd say my wife has her eyes closed about half the time during sex. There are times when I can tell she's just about to go over the edge and we both stare into each others eyes as we both do, that's what it's all about.
As Maleficent said earlier, guys need a more visual stimulation, where as for the ladies, it is a more of a mental thing.
