Also check the speaker wires. Just helped a friend with a 91 C1500 and his front speaker wires were rubbing behind the dash and the insulation wore away so the speaker was shorting. Made a buzzing sound when the radio was on. Didn't help either that his dash was all loose and cracked from sun damage.
