One game that comes to mind right now, is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, this is the most fun i had in a racing game in a long time, it reminded me of the old days of Top Gear. It's a must have for a PS2 owner, it's also the best out of the other consols and PC versions too.

Check out Metal Gear Solid 2 if you're into the freak/sci-fi stealth third person action genre
