So I bought a PS2 today. Now help me spend more money. :)

And now I need advice as to some good games. I didnt research what was out there, but I did search the TFP and and saw plenty of singular games or Xbox ones

Here is the games I currently own:
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Grand Turismo 3

Here are the genre's I enjoy:
RPG
Realistic Racing
Side-Scrolling

I hate (For Consoles that is):
FPS
RTS

Anything else is game.

I'm talking personal favs, or things you feel would match this.
Not some huge 50 game list (Yeah you Lasereth :P hehe)

Thanks

Although it's available on every platform, I'd strongly recommend Beyond Good and Evil if you haven't played it already.

Summoner 1 is an underrated RPG, and you should be able to get it for like 10 bucks or less on ebay.

If you're married and your spouse likes games, get The Adventures of Cookies and Cream.

One game that comes to mind right now, is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, this is the most fun i had in a racing game in a long time, it reminded me of the old days of Top Gear. It's a must have for a PS2 owner, it's also the best out of the other consols and PC versions too.

I'll try and think of more later...

Disgaea! Turns the RPG on its head, is silly at times but fun as hell.

Definitely, a must buy!

Check out Metal Gear Solid 2 if you're into the freak/sci-fi stealth third person action genre

Another must-buy: ATV Offroad Fury (it's cheap now, too)

Silent Hill 2 & 3
SSX Tricky
SSX 3
Jak & Daxter
Jak II
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Need for Speed: Underground

I'll think of some more later

I don't want to start a new thread on something so similar, but I just won a PS2, and what are the best FPSs for the system?

And I have to disagree about atv offroad fury, it came with my system, and it is not much fun, IMHO.

this game's a bit of a sleeper, but it's fun, silly, and it does provide some real challenge. i'd definitely rent it for a few days and give it a try:

Sorry Lasereth but that cracked me up!

My favourites on the PS2 are...
Jak and Daxter
Jak II: Renegade
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3
Transformers: Prelude to Energon
GTA3...

I'll post more if I can think of them, damn, been a while since I went near the PS2.

I would suggest one of the games out of the Dynasty Warriors series if you like games with a lot of replay value. I have been playing DW3 for at least 2 years now and I'm still not done....

RPG's suggestion

I personally recommend Suikoden 3--the storyline is uniformly excellent, and most of the characters have actual motivations behind their actions. Amazing, that.

Also, I agree about Disgaea, and the recently release La Pucelle Tactics. Both are strategy RPG's with a serious bent attitude. Of the two, Disgaea is the better, IMHO.

Finally, I'm going to go out on a limb here and claim Metal Gear Solid 2. Despite what you may have heard from others, I think it is truly classic. Not gonna say anything else, tho. Make up your own mind, of course.

If you like RPG's, I believe that Baldur's Gate: Dark Legacy is quite underrated. I wouldn't go for Gauntlet Legends, especially if you've played it on N64.

For racing, Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero is fun, as is Midnight Club

Na, if the game is availble on PC, I'll be playing it on that. Graphics are better, patches, mods, multiplayer (not the gay ps2 network stuff), and I have a PS2->USB pad when the controlls call for it.

Gonna check out this Jak game tho, many of you seem to mention it.
